This is so good. I follow you on twitter but can’t do TikTok so it’s nice to discover your Substack. Hoping for more movie posts

Tell me we’re all touch starved without telling me we’re all touch starved: “I just wanted some freaking smooching” hit too hard ahaha.

Sorry that’s the bit I glommed onto…outing myself.

Ty for the read ❤️

The comparison of poor little Nina's fate to Powell is particularly inspired. Perhaps Powell is indeed the unholy convergence of wanting to make the next big "thing" in Hollywood when the "thing" has little to no relevancy for today's audience. I'm not much of a movie watcher but I enjoyed this review very much!

Okay, okay, Mr. Semiotics. Loved the post. Agree with others who feel this one may have revealed a particular talent for reviews (please keep 'em coming). Did I have the Similacra and Simulation wiki page up for reference while reading this post...who could say? The similarly embarrassing rant that I went on to my friends about the indefensible lack of smoochies...smh. (Apparently, it was Spielberg's idea.)

Also, Glen Powell is not a demon. He's just a hot, blonde Texan man trying to make his way in this world. And, my friend says he's her boyfriend. So, please leave him alone 😤

Loved these takes!! Crazy to read as someone currently in the Midwest lol. I saw someone on live say that reading your Substack aloud would make great video content and I have to agree
